Thank you so much for mentioning the vaccine issue. I am one of the nurses that had to leave my home state which vaccine mandates were issued, and practice in Florida for 2 years. It was the best decision I ever made. No offense to anyone that took the vaccine, but it just was not for me and I'm so glad I did not take it.

Dr Sprintz, this is an amazing presentation - such excellent advice, broken down with really good examples of how to, step by step. Heartening and to see lots of compassion and yet firm boundaries in place, collegial support. Thank you!

Don’t leave medicine to go into law based on the fact that you were sued. Lawyers also get sued for malpractice.

Before quitting you need to top up your nutrients. Alcoholocs will be severely nutrient deficient including magnesium and vit B1 or thiamine. Super high doses are needed. Alcoholocs can get " wet brain" which is severe b1 depletion. Also called beri beri. But many b vitamins will be deficient as will amino acids that are crucial for neurotransmitters. A lack of thiamine will cause dysautonomia and lack of ATP. Gaba receptors down regulate and glutamate receptors upregulate to compensate for the alcohol. When you quit you get glutamate excitotoxicity and thats why you hallucinate or have crazy dreams. Its like being sort of temporarily schizophrenic due to too much neuronal firing. You need glutamate blockers until your body restores its balance. You must top up with magnesium prior to quitting. Magnesium L threonate will cross the blood brain barrier and block cslcium from openimg channels for glutamate but you should also take magnesium glycinate.. high doses before , during and after quitting. The following vits and amino acids modulate glutamate excitotoxicity. Taurine, glycine to modulate glutamate, TMG to restore proper methylation, choline to restore methylation in the liver and feed the brain( eggs) Glutamine as a precurser for gaba and to heal, curcumin, methylated B complex vits. High dose vit B1 , high dose B 3 , B 6. Picamillon is broken down into gaba and niacin in the brain. This form crosses the blood brain barrier to provide gaba in the absense of alcohol. The herbs Jujube are anti seizure and block intracellular calcium uptake that cause glutamate overload. You can buy bags of jujube at an Asian suoermarket. Radix polygale blocks cslcium and cell death. THIS one can be found at Asian herbalists. Curcumin is an nmda blocker as well. Radix notoginseng blocks nmda receptors as well. A ketogenic diet appears to lessen the need for benzos and lowers the rate of seizures. Your body turns alcohol into acetate which is a ketone body and these are taken up in thr brain. Going on a ketogenic diet or by taking exogenous ketones will supply the brain with fuel that its been used too. You may be insulin resisatant in the brain and not able to use glucose so well. A keto diet will also increase brain mitochondria by 400% in 3 months. 5 grams glycine before bed with magnesium, plus L theanine from green tea ( calms the brain and blocks glutamate) along with apigenin ( from chamomile) can help you sleep. Valarian blocks nmda recptors too and is tranquilizing fir sleeo but it can make you groggy. Ashwaganda can be used before sleep and it helps modulate nmda as well. Nmds are the receptors for glutamate. CBD oil calms you and helps you sleep. The non THC kind. Vigorous exercise can burn off glutamate and lower its availability. It can take 4 weeks to restore the glutamate gaba balance but in can take months to restore intracelluar magnesium or thiamine. Every little strategy for nutrition helos. Keep using high nutritional supplements until you feel better and can go on a lower maintenance dose. If you have a history of the dts or delirium when detoxing you may need benzos initially but they will not address nutrient deficiencies. See your Dr anout that. You may need liver support as well. There are many other herbs that raise gaba levels in the brain...like lemon balm. Omega 3s, vit c and a good multimineral is beneficial too. Luons mane mushroom will grow new neurons in the brain. Ginko increases blood flow in the brain. Recovering takes time and should be comprehensive in nature. Be prepared do your research and supplement wisely.
